About Dennis Williams

Founder of Who Cares, I Care

Exuberant, graceful, empathetic, and compassionate are only a few words that begin to describe Dennis Williams. Those fortunate enough to know him can attest to the nourishing energy he carries within himself and freely shares with others. His presence has often been described as warmth — like a glistening light at the end of an arduous path.

For over a decade, Dennis Williams and his drag alter ego, Destiny Devine, have captivated audiences with spot-on Beyoncé performances and powerful live vocals. Beyond the glamour and artistry, they have consistently uplifted and enriched the lives of the LGBTQIA+ community through heartfelt storytelling, authentic expression, and love-centered performance.

Yet, Dennis’s work has always extended far beyond the stage — reaching deeply into the hearts of those he serves, inspiring healing, empowerment, and self-acceptance in every space he enters.

From Pain to Purpose

As a Black American navigating life within the LGBTQIA+ community, Dennis is no stranger to injustice or adversity. In 2018, he experienced the devastating loss of his mother. The grief that followed led to a severe depression, and in 2020, Dennis attempted to end his life. He was saved by a close friend moments before jumping into the Hudson River — a pivotal moment that transformed his life forever.

In that moment of survival, Dennis made a promise.

He vowed that once he restored his spiritual health and emotional balance, he would dedicate his life to creating a safe and protective space for young LGBTQIA+ individuals. Not just to motivate and inspire — but to encourage conversations around the one subject too often left unspoken in marginalized communities:

Mental health.

He said he would do it — and stop at nothing to make it happen.

And from that promise, Who Cares, I Care was born.

The Vision

“What excites me most is the opportunity to help our community grow together as one. I believe it is together that we will ascend above our hardships, foster loving relationships, and live productive, healthy lives.”

“I envision us living less as colors, and more as the beautiful, spiritual beings that we are.”

Artistic Foundation

Upon graduating high school, Dennis pursued his dreams at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, focusing on Musical Theater. There, his passion for performance was sharpened into purpose.

Throughout his career, Dennis has performed in acclaimed productions including:

  • West Side Story

  • Grease (Roger)

  • Smokey Joe’s Café (Ken)

  • Let My People Come (Choir Director)

  • HBO’s Vinyl

  • Disney’s Fire Island

He has also collaborated with Emmy Award-winning producer Ryan Stana of CBS/RWS & Associates Entertainment, performing in theme parks, industrial productions, and projects across the United States.

His artistic background gives him a powerful advantage: the ability to connect emotionally, communicate authentically, and command a room with both vulnerability and strength.

Through Who Cares, I Care, Dennis channels his lived experience, artistry, and resilience into:
